DEAR CRF, I HAVE TOO MUCH TIME INVESTED, SHOULD I STAY?

Dear CRF,
I’ve been dating my man for a while now. Things were really good in the beginning, and I even thought I loved him. After some time, things never progressed to the next level, even though we had moved in together. After a very long rough patch, I realized that maybe he wasn’t the one for me and that there wasn’t a next level for us. Should I give up on the years we’ve spent together or hope that one day I’ll fall back in love with him?

CRF RESPONSE
If the only thing holding you back is time invested then you should stop investing anymore time. It will only be harder. You say you don’t love him. You said things aren’t progressing. So what reasons do you have to stay?

Now there are times, in any relationship, that the in love feeling may go but the love remains. That isn’t what you’ve explained to me. And if you have truly learned yourself in this relationship, and know this isn’t what you want for your future, then there isn’t any reason to fight.

Put on your big girl draws and do what is necessary. Time is of the essence.
