Dear Code Red Flag,

“I have been with my man for 15 years. I found out he’s been cheating for the last 2 yrs paying her bills. She’s not the only one there have been others in the last 2 years. I also found out he had a sexual relationship with the woman we adopted a baby from back in 2005. God knows how long that lasted because she still calls!!! He wants to work it out with me. Will I be stupid to seek counseling with him? I don’t love him but he pays our bills. Help!”

CRF RESPONSE
You say you’ve been with this man 15 years and you don’t love him. When did you realize this? Could it be 2 years ago? Now ask yourself, was it before or after he cheated on you? Finally, why are you with and raising a family with a man you don’t love and who doesn’t respect you? What are you teaching your children? Where is your self respect? Oh, I know you sold it to get your bills paid. I suggest you get your act together, start paying your own bills, and stop being a red flag yourself.
