DEAR CRF,
“The guy I’m dating has decided that he wants to date other women. So much so, that he told me that he won’t be available this weekend because another women is flying into town to spend the weekend with him. He doesn’t see the issue and says I can do the same. What do y’all think? Is this a red flag?”

RESPONSE
Because of how I date, for me this is a red flag, stop sign, hazardous condition, game over statement. I’ve never been one to date multiple people. I rather put my energy into getting to know the one gentleman I’m seeing to see if we want to take it to another level. At some point, we decide we want to grow as a couple or let it go. No harm, no foul.

But as I’ve shared this to numerous groups it seems that people date differently. So, be sure to date someone who dates like you do. Ain’t the end of the world. Brush your shoulder off and keep it moving because clearly it bothers you.

Dating is an activity, not a title. If you’re dating in hope for a title let it be known. If you’re on the same page then continue. If not, do yourself a favor and keep it moving.
